Safety Rules and Regulations

Equine and farm-related activities can be very dangerous. We want to ensure that everyone has a safe and pleasant experience while at Spring Valley Farm. In order to achieve this goal, the following general safety rules and regulations must be adhered to at all times.

  1. Cancellation PolicyAll riders must give 24 hours notice of cancellation of a lesson to avoid being charged for that lesson. In case of illness, a 4-hour notice must be given to avoid a lesson charge (one allowed every 4 weeks). If you are 15 minutes late for a lesson, the lesson is cancelled and you will be charged. Please call 784-3700 to notify us of a cancellation. Leave a recorded message if there is no answer. All messages are time stamped. Habitual cancellations will result in losing your scheduled time.
  2. Speeding on Amber Lake Road is prohibited! Please be considerate of our neighbors.
  3. All riders must wear approved safety helmets and appropriate riding footwear at all times when around horses. No shorts or tank tops, please.
  4. Owners of all horses brought onto Spring Valley Farm must provide documentation of current (past 12 months) negative Coggins test and a copy of current horse/pony vaccination records.
  5. All riders should check all tack and equipment before riding and report any damaged equipment to a Spring Valley Farm sponsor or professional. Do not ride with damaged equipment.
  6. Non-boarders are not allowed to enter stalls, paddocks or turnout areas with horses without permission from Spring Valley Farm personnel. Golf carts are for SVF staff ONLY!

All riders must inform instructors of any health-related problems that may impact their performance (i.e. a history of seizures, severe allergies, diabetes, etc.). Parents must provide information about medical conditions that would impact equine activities of their children.

  15. Our grooms and staff work very hard-please be respectful and appreciative. Spring Valley Farm staff has authority over all conduct at the facility. Safety is a core value at Spring Valley Farm.
